Wildlife Filmmaking Workshop

This workshop at the Barrington Public Library focused on the art of wildlife filmmaking, covering techniques and experiences in documenting animals in their natural habitats. Many thanks to wildlife filmmaker Gerry Krausse for his support and amazing talk!

Hampden Meadows Presentation

The BEE presented at Hampden Meadows School on its mission and impacts. Many thanks to Ms. St. Angelo and her amazing class for their support!

Presentation on Water

This presentation at the Public Library focused on how the water we use every day is cleaned (or sometimes, not cleaned). Many thanks to local wastewater expert Mr. Marcos De la Monja for his support!

Resilience Garden Workshop

This presentation at the Public Library showed how you can build a more resilient and sustainable garden, with a focus on native plants. Many thanks to Mr. George Christie of the RI Wild Plant Society for his support!

BEE Two-Year Anniversary!

As we are approaching our 2 year anniversary, we invite you to join us at the Bay Spring Community Center in Barrington Rhode Island from 11:30am to 1:30pm on December 22nd. There will be food and fun!

Barrington Beach Cleanup

Met at Barrington Beach for a beach clean-up and pizza. As part of the International Coastal Cleanup, we removed trash while collecting important data.

President's Environmental Youth Award Ceremony

The BEE recieved a President's Environmental Youth award for its work, which the BEE founders went to recieve at Washington, DC. Thanks to everyone for their continued support!!

Poster Workshop

We hosted a poster workshop at Barrington Public Library, where students created posters on environmental topics - specifically anti-littering.

Sapling Sale, 2024 Edition

We had our 2024 sapling sale in collaboration with nonprofit Tree-Plenish, selling 176 saplings to our neighbors to offset local paper use.

East Bay Bike Path Cleanup

We hosted a cleanup of the East Bay Bike Path, picking up trash and debris, providing trash bags and pickers. Thanks to all who came out to help!

One Year Anniversary!

We celebrated our one year anniversary with snacks and drinks. Thanks to all BEE members for their continued support!!

Dr. Manu DiLorenzo on El Nino

Dr. Manu DiLorenzo, professor of environmental science at Brown University, spoke on the topic of El Nino, its impacts on the environment, and advances in climate modeling.

Fall Volunteering Day @ BFS

BEE members went to volunteer at the Barrington Farm School, helping out with various farm projects. We also had snacks!

Pumpkin Decoration Workshop

Hosted a pumpkin decoration workshop at the Barrington Public Library, where students decorated pumpkins with environmentally friendly materials. Candy was provided!

Tote Bag Workshop

Hosted an art workshop at the Barrington Public Library supporting the use of resusable tote bags.

Movie Screening

Hosted a screening of the environment-focused movie "Happy Feet" at the Barrington Public Library.

Barrington Beach Cleanup

We hosted a local beach cleanup at Barrington Beach, picking up trash and other debris. Thanks to Save the Bay for supplies!

Environmental Art Workshop

An art workshop was held at the Barrington Public Library, where students created art pieces inspired by nature and climate change.

BHS Presentation on Student Volunteer Opportunities

In conjunction with the Barrington Land Conservation Trust, we launched a new volunteer opportunity for students - the Student Stewarship Team.

Volunteering at Barrington Farm School

We did composting, farm clean-up tasks, and planting at the Barrington Farm School, a local farm in Barrington.

Dr. Kim Cobb on Sea Level Rise

Dr. Kim Cobb, professor and director of the Institute for Environment and Society at Brown University, spoke on sea level rise in Rhode Island.
